Pre-Recap Information:

I’ve taken on reviewing and recapping this show as a personal challenge. While the show was airing there were a lot of online comments from people struggling to make sense of what was happening. This feels like a great opportunity to do a public service and make sense of the plot, freeing others from the burden of doing so.

To that end, I’ll be recapping this show one episode at a time, to make it easier to keep track of details.

Before these recaps, I watched the first two episodes when it started airing. Here is what I know going in:

  • There’s a rich young guy named Great, bad things happen and he makes bad choices but suddenly he gets the chance for a 4-minute do-over and this allows him to rethink things and make better choices
  • There’s a doctor named Tyme (like “time” with a “y”, not “thyme” without an “h” I’m guessing)
  • There are two guys named Tonkla and Korn and they like having sex

Which brings me to my next two random points.

First, if I’m going to be petty, I don’t think this is a BL.

For me, a BL is a romance-focused story between two men with certain tropes (drying each other’s hair, wiping food off each other’s faces, falling into each other’s arms, etc). From what I can tell, this is going to be a timey-whimey thriller that also has two men developing a romantic relationship together. The tropes for that kind of show have more to do with figuring out what is happening with time and solving some kind of time-related issue (keeping someone from dying usually).

There’s nothing wrong with being one or the other, but if you’re just here to see guys flirt on a college campus, this is probably not the show for you.

(I’m still putting it in the BL section of my website because I know many people aren’t petty like me)

Second, there is a “sultrier” version and a, uh, non-sultry version

I’m watching the “sultrier” version because I want to see everything. I will not, however, be writing sultry recaps. My recaps will be cool and dry because I’m petty that way.

(I suspect that even the not-sultry version will be hotter than something like I Hear The Sunspot. This is a warning or a welcome.)

And with that, let’s see how well I follow along with what happens!
