When last we left our kinda prince and his taciturn bodyguard, the King released the bodyguard from his duty.

And I thought the prince competition was settled
But the family gathers to argue about it. Smiling, heirless prince suggests they add a quiz. Archery also gets added. I’m not entirely sure why. I also don’t care.
Charan is ghosting Nin while students fawn over him. Another student’s nose randomly bleeds, and our new foreign prince lends him a handkerchief. Nose bleeder is Jay, who Charan puts in charge of Calvin, the visiting prince. They appear to be our third couple.
Nin refuses to pick a fencing coach until Chakri helps him track down Charan. There’s an absurd and adorable chase around a desk before Chakri gives in.

Charan’s next Painting Metaphor Moment is with Paytai
This time it’s about wanting things you can’t have. Paytai thinks about being in bed with Ramil. Which, he has that…
Nin spies on them badly and gives himself away. When they’re alone, he demands that Charan explain why he’s ghosting him and orders him back to his side. Charan leaves to teach class instead.
So Nin joins the class. Chakri too. Chakri is the better artist. Frustrated, Nin leaves. Then stops, because he wanted Charan to chase after him. Charan didn’t. I love you, Nin.
But Charan thinks about Nin while wearing a sexy robe and doing art.
Next person to disrupt Charan’s teaching is Ramil, who drags Paytai away from private lessons. He reminds Paytai who he belongs to and demands that he stay away from Charan. In the car, Paytai suddenly has a collar and leash on, and Ramil kisses him. Wow.

Nin discovers Ramil stole his fencing coach
Charan visits the King with his painting, and Nin interrupts to ask that Charan be his new fencing coach. He talks up how well Charan understands him, which gets the King to agree and makes Charan uncomfortable. Charan thinks he’s being used as a bargaining chip, Nin says he’s not.
Nin is still confused about why Charan dragged him here and abandoned him. Charan tries to bring up the King. Nin grabs Charan’s hand and wants to know if the king can order Charan to never see him again.
Charan says this is inappropriate. Nin grabs the other hand and demands that he explain why he won’t be his coach. Charan says he doesn’t fence in front of others, which is… How do you fence alone?
He agrees to be Nin’s coach and apologizes in advance if he oversteps. At home, Charan smiles to himself.

Nin doesn’t really want to be coached
He pretends to hurt himself to avoid exercise. Then he really hurts himself, and skinship ankle bandaging happens. Good job, Nin.
Biological Dad shows up to be a concerned father. He tells Nin he doesn’t want to see him hurt. That’s it for him being a father in these episodes.
Nin wants more skinship, but Chakri and PPL get in the way. Eventually, he makes a date happen when Charan reluctantly agrees to take him to a nearby pearl store. He makes him stop to eat local food first.
Charan is uneasy as Nin force feeds him and makes him smile, but Nin tends to get what he wants.

But not at the pearl store
They don’t have the pearls that Nin wants to see. But even then, Charan takes Nin to his place to show him his pearls. For real, this is not a euphemism.
Charan lives alone in this big home. Nin realizes he doesn’t fence in front of others to keep his skills secret. I’m confused about what people know and don’t know about Charan, considering he lives in a house built for the royal guard family.
Charan tries to be proper, but Nin questions who decides what’s proper. Charan’s place is full of art by him and his mother. He pulls out his mom’s beloved pearl collection, which started with a pearl given to her by his father.
Ramil and Paytai are still doing their kinky thing. Ramil thinks Paytai is interested in Charan. They have a drawer full of sex toys.
We get a training montage with Nin, whose archery is slowly improving. We also get a flashback, and see that Charan gave Nin a pearl symbolising friendship. Charan sends some confusing signals.

The King wants Calvin and Nin to get closer
Is he setting them up together? Is this that kind of world? He sends them off to Ava’s, along with Ramil. Nin convinces them to go to a club. He’s going to get these royal kids to have fun. Also, Charan, whom he drags onto the dance floor with them.
Ramil drops a glass on the floor to get Paytai’s attention, and it works. Paytai chases him to apologize for having a good time. And offers to do whatever Ramil wants. Which is suck his face aggressively in public.
Ava, Nin, and Charan leave, but some random dudes are outside. Charan quickly and easily beats them up. It’s a good fight scene.
Then it starts to rain. In a repeat of what happened earlier, he zones out. Nin pulls him out of it, taking him by the hand and leading him to his hotel room. But Charan is still breathing heavily and having a panic attack.
Nin tries to coax him into calming down. Charan says when he was six, his mother left and said she’d be away for a while. She promised she’d return but didn’t, and it was raining. Charan cries and says the rain terrifies him.
Nin wants him to stay the night, and won’t let him argue. We get a nice crying hug and then, kissing time!

I think there’s more to Charan’s trauma
But I’m happy with what they’ve shared.
The blood in the rain seemed to remind Charan of something from his childhood, but he didn’t mention it to Nin. Is it something he’s keeping secret? Or he doesn’t remember?
I’m happy with this slow reveal of Charan. In these episodes, he felt brainwashed. He’s been raised to be this person and behave this way. He’s never been allowed to make his own choices and doesn’t have it in him to act out. His art seems to be his safe place to express his feelings, and the one time he’s argued with the king was over a painting.
I finally understood Nin’s point of view in these two episodes. (I know, I’m being slow here.) In England, Charan was a bossy guy who would argue with him. In Emmaly, he’s this mindless servant doing what he’s told. Nin doesn’t fully understand why Charan is so repressed and resents being forced to come here and being abandoned. Also, Charan is sexy and he wants him. I don’t blame him for either.
Nin probably thinks Charan was his real self when in England. I agree and support Nin in being bratty to push Charan to change.
Paytai and Ramil are interesting. At first glance, Ramil appears to be victimizing Paytai. But there’s a lot of secret smiling and deliberate action from Paytai that makes me think he enjoys pushing Ramily to extremes. Still, it would be nice if Ramil’s father went away. Crossing my fingers.
