Pit Babe Season 2 – Episode 9-10 – Recap and Review

When last we left our not-omegaverse soap opera, Willy’s time-freezing powers were revealed.

He uses them to kidnap Charlie!

I guess that’s all Tony meant by “bringing Charlie back.”

Babe tells the gang what happened. They try to track Charlie’s phone, but it’s off. Kim knows where the lab is, but he’s worried about people getting caught like Kenta. He tells everyone that Willy is Tony’s only success. So far.

As Kim explains, we get an ominous close-up of Alan.

Not-Way suspects that it’s because of this lack of success that Tony wants Charlie. He needs his cells.

But Willy hasn’t handed Charlie off to Tony yet. He’s cuffed him to a cement block and is using a jammer to hide from Tony. He wants to ransom Charlie. Charlie thinks they can remove the chip, but Willy tried that on his own and failed. Which proves nothing but that’s very Willy.

He declares he’ll do anything to get his freedom back.

Kenta gets his freedom back

He takes out the one guy guarding him and switches clothes. Then he sends a message to Pete that Willy and Charlie aren’t at the lab. Pete realizes that Willy is using Charlie as a hostage, so they should do nothing for now.

Babe rushes off anyway, which Alan thinks is for the best.

Alone, Not-Way wants to know why Pete didn’t share that he’s Tony’s real son. Not-Way has not realized that Pete always opts for waiting. Also, Pete thinks everyone will be okay since Not-Way isn’t on Tony’s side “anymore”. When was he on Tony’s side?

Not-Way thinks Pete must not trust him and hate him. Pete isn’t sure he trusts him, but he’ll earn trust by finishing the drug.

Babe returns with no leads. Alan and he have a nice moment together, with Alan comforting Babe.

Jeff discovers he’s not the only one who lies in their relationship

But he doesn’t give Alan the silent treatment when he learns about the surgery. Alan reassures Jeff that he’s using Pete’s method of handling things, waiting, but they’ll go to the doctor when things calm down.

Not-Way is spacing out at work, and his lab-mates want to help. Poor Not-Way. He confesses that he lost someone’s trust. They urge him to win back the trust.

Kenta learns about the trade Tony and Willy have arranged and gets the info to Pete before getting caught again. Alone, Kim smokes and worries about Kenta.

The Sonic and Dean Saga Continues

Sonic tells Alan he doesn’t trust Dean. Which I think is reasonable, and Alan thinks is unfair. Dean overhears and tells Sonic he’ll prove himself at the race.

Not-Way wants Pete to know he’d never work for someone like Tony, who uses science as a weapon. Even if Pete is only a hookup, he doesn’t like being seen as an enemy. Despite his earlier comments, Pete knows Not-Way isn’t working for Tony. Not-Way is surprised he doesn’t use his powers to confirm Not-Way isn’t lying.

Pete makes Not-Way happy by saying he trusts him.

Race time! It should be harder to capture someone who can freeze time, but Willy doesn’t seem that smart anyway. They trap him in the race course and tape his hands up, which is all that’s needed to stop him from using his powers. Babe punches Willy enough to get Charlie’s location.

Dean stays behind to stop Winner from pursuing them, and there’s a big explosion.

Winner is fine, Dean’s body is missing

Although Tony is ready to kill Winner for always failing at everything. Winner begs for his life and promises to get Willy and Charlie.

Babe finds Charlie, and they take Willy back to dig the chip out of his head.

Everyone wants Alan to accept that Dean is dead without a body. Given Tony’s reappearance and Not-Way wandering around, this feels unfair. Babe consoles Alan, not Jeff.

Sonic, feeling guilty about his distrust of Dean, is consoled by North. It involves face-nuzzling and kissing.

Of course, Tony has Dean, although he’s in a coma. Tony wants Winner to do something “simple” with him

Babe and Charlie are all good now

Charlie has been wearing the ring on a necklace and asks Babe to put it back on him. Babe thanks him for being there and Charlie says he’ll always be there. Except if he needs to break his heart “for his own good” I guess. But whatever, it’s time for them to have sex.

Charlie wants to talk about their future after this Tony stuff is done. Babe is too focused on their current problems. I’m with Babe on this one.

North is shy and weird around Sonic before finally admitting he likes Sonic. I’m still annoyed with him, but Sonic is happy.

Then we get to see Tony remembering his times with Babe. It’s. Weird.

Charlie suggests Willy’s cells are useful

Why not? So they forcefully draw Willy’s blood.

Winner shows Alan a picture of Dean. If Alan gets him Charlie’s blood, he’ll return Dean and stop bothering X-Hunter.

Now that they have Charlie back, Alan is going to the doctor, but won’t let Jeff come. He gives him a big hug that should make Jeff suspicious. Because Alan goes to Tony, not just to cooperate, but because he’s decided Tony can fix his spine with that skill-creating drug. Why not?

They strap him into a chair and yell percentages until they reach 100%.

Charlie has a vision and tells Babe he thinks Tony created another person with special abilities. He doesn’t seem to know it’s Alan. Who now has super strength and a chip in his head that Tony promises is harder to take out than Willy’s.

Jeff learns Alan didn’t go in for his appointment, and everyone comes to worry with him, including Kim. But not Kenta, who everyone has forgotten.

Then Alan shows up and he’s fine! He lies about seeing a different doctor and not needing surgery. Kim looks worried.

Even though they have Willy and his blood, Pete says they need to talk to someone who was experimented on. Alan looks guilty and remembers the deal we already know about, but says nothing.

That Alan thing didn’t go the way I wanted

Giving up your best buddy’s boyfriend’s blood to a human trafficker to turn people into his super-human army so that you can avoid being out of work for a few months is not a good look.

I was hoping Alan would do it as part of a fake-out. Instead, it looks like it’ll turn out to be useful for the Pit Babe team, which I’m guessing will be why they forgive him. Or maybe he’s pulling a Charlie and has some plan and keeping things secret.

Meanwhile, poor Not-Way is worrying about trust just because he didn’t tell everyone about his secret Dad. And snooped around Pete. He’s bratty, but at least he’s working with the team.

Kenta, though, is our MVP for these episodes. He could have escaped, but instead chose to continue gathering information. He’s too good for the team and I hope gets to have some hot time with Kim as his reward soon.

With only four episodes left, I suspect things will be very messy.
