Pit Babe Season 2 – Episode 11-12 – Recap and Review

When last we left our not-omegaverse soap opera, Alan went rogue and made a deal with Tony.

But we start with Willy

Our Pit Babe team wants him to work with them. Willy isn’t interested, but Charlie suggests that Willy save others from what he went through. Moved, he tells them he saw Tony getting his blood drawn regularly, so they were using it for something.

They leave Willy tied to a wheelchair in a room and walk off.

At home, Charlie changes his mind about sex, setting up a whole thing about how he’d never forget Babe. Guess what happens later? But anyway, they have sex.

Alan is pleased with the results of betraying his friends

Now that he feels better, he can drive a race car in circles. Our X Hunter chorus arrives to tease Alan about racing again. Then leave.

Alan acts injured so he can spring a proposal on Jeff. Run, Jeff, run! But he accepts.

Our X-Hunter chorus walks in again to congratulate them. I’m glad they aren’t letting Kenta’s imprisonment or Dean’s “death” interfere with life. Alan picks up Jeff and kisses him romantically in the sunset.

Pete and Not-Way are back on again

Not-Way tells Pete about discovering he was a test tube experiment like Way. But he didn’t get powers.

He wants to take Tony down and trusts Pete with what to do next. Pete suggests they use Tony’s blood in his veins for something good. And promises he’ll be part of Not-Way’s future.

Kissing! Interrupted by Kim, the only other person who cares about the plot. While Not-Way drinks wine, Kim explains that he saw a mark behind Alan’s ear that matches other test subjects.

Also, Kenta. Pete hasn’t heard from him, but he’s probably fine. Kim is pissed that Kenta loves Pete, but Pete sees him as a pawn.

There’s another race, some PPL, Charlie forgets something again, and makes a joke, so Babe lets it go.

“Bottoms up” feels different on a BL

Everyone drinks because they win at everything. Jeff joins the “behaving out of character club” and checks on Babe, who’s worried about Charlie’s memory issues. Jeff thinks Charlie has absorbed too many powers.

Alan sneaks away, but Kim follows him! Tony gives Alan 3 days to bring Charlie’s blood, or he’ll kill everyone. Alan wants Dean and Kenta released, which Tony swears he’ll do.

Kim confronts Alan, who uses Kenta to get Kim on his side.

Not-Way shares his story so that Pete can get Babe’s permission to inject Charlie with Not-Way’s blood. Kids, don’t do ANY of this at home.

Babe gives the okay, and then Pete tells only him about the whole “Alan went to Tony” thing.

Meanwhile, Alan knocks Charlie out, takes some blood, and carries him into the lab.

Charlie wakes up but doesn’t recognize Babe!

But recognizes Jeff. Even Babe’s “Mama/Papa” talk doesn’t help. Babe asks Alan’s permission to stay with Charlie. What is happening? They decide that Babe and Jeff will stay with Charlie.

Alan hands Tony the blood, then in a shocking twist, Tony zaps Alan and says he’ll release Kenta and Dean later. He wants Alan to get Babe to crawl back to him. Alan tries to refuse, but Tony strokes his head and tells him he has no choice.

Back at home, Alan gives Jeff lame excuses for disappearing and then says he’ll take him out to eat. That would work on me, too.

Being at their place doesn’t help Charlie remember Babe

Babe brings him to the garage, where he remembers “Mama”. But he’d rather spend the night with Jeff.

Alan wants to know what Babe would be willing to do to help Charlie remember. Babe says anything. Beat. Beat. Do you know something? Alan says, nah.

Jeff points out to Charlie that Babe is also struggling. At home, Charlie cooks dinner. Then his BL instincts overcome memory loss, and he eats spaghetti sauce off Babe’s face.

But he’s still only getting flashes of memory. We get some sweet kisses that don’t lead to sex.

Time for a new test subject!

It’s Kenta! Electricity and percentage numbers!

Babe overhears Alan reporting to Kim, so Alan confesses. Babe is Not Happy. Alan swears he’ll fix everything.

Meanwhile, Tony shows off Kenta by having Winner slash his chest and rip his shirt off. Kenta heals immediately. Some evil men think this is great.

Charlie finds an obvious password (“babe”) he left in an obvious place. On his laptop, he discovers a useless video he left in case he lost his memory, stating that the skill-nullifying serum is super important. And also his X-Hunter teammates.

Remember that key?

That Way gave Kenta who gave it to Pete? They use Charlie’s vision power to find a mysterious box at Way’s place. Inside are documents that explain Tony’s super-resurrection power. If he’s dying and he swallows his blood before he dies, he can come back to life.

We see this illustrated as Alan stabs Tony, who swallows some blood and recovers.

Charlie lets Tony into Babe’s because no one bothered to show him a picture. Tony says he could abduct them, but he’d rather they come back because he’ll murder Alan and fix Charlie.

A little betrayal is nothing between friends

Alan must be an amazing guy because after confessing, all they care about is convincing Jeff that Alan did this because he loves all of them. Poor Jeff.

Tony is going to turn everyone into Alphas under the guise of offering free vaccinations. They need to take Tony down before that!

Babe thinks they can do this – with Willy’s help! Babe repeats Charlie’s strategy of protecting others from what happened to him, then releases him from the wheelchair.

And Willy walks away, saying thank you.

Tony has a project for Winner, then laughs evilly to himself. Babe meets up with Winner to hand off Charlie.

I guess we’re supposed to think now Babe is betraying everyone?

Because of that conversation with Alan about what he’d do to get Charlie’s memory back? But that’s clearly not what’s happening. They’re doing another fake-out, and the team is going to work together. Including Willy.

Last recap, I didn’t realize this show is 13 episodes, not 14. So we’ve got one episode to either frantically tie everything together or leave things wide open for season 3. Which is kinda what they did in season 1.

They resolved the Alan thing fast. Or will he do a Way-style self-sacrifice to redeem himself?

I don’t ask much of Pit Babe, so my main issue with this season has been that it repeats the general format of last season. I don’t love Alan being so stupid, but at least it’s different. If anything, I wish they had been even more over the top, and made Sonic or North the mole. That might have been fun.

I like seeing the team work together, and we haven’t gotten much of that, so I am looking forward to the last episode. I’m hoping that Kenta will get to show off his new skills. For Kim.

Although I feel bad for Kim and Sonic, they ALMOST escaped all of this.
