Pre-Recap Thoughts:

So this isn’t a rewatch recap, but I did watch the first episode when the show first aired. Back then I liked the episode, but I was intimidated by watching on-air stuff for fear of a terrible ending and also wasn’t that familiar with Thai shows. I’m still not that familiar with Thai shows, but I’ve watched and enjoyed a decent number. There was a lot of love for this show when it was airing and I feel like I’ve been saving it like a treat for later. Now it’s finally time!

Final-Watch Thoughts:

While this show had strong writing and acting and more of a plot than many shows I’ve watched, it’s ultimately not my kind of show. It confirms for me that shows that are at their core a romcom are usually not my favorite thing, as a lot of the plot and conflict revolved around characters trying to get through comedic situations that wore on my patience as they went on. I also found the ending a bit unsatisfying.

But it’s still a show I’m ready to recommend to anyone who is more inclined to like that kind of thing than me. Pat and Pran have interesting, contrasting personalities without either of them becoming stereotypes. From the beginning to the end of the show, they stayed true to themselves and their characters. The arc of their characters and the push-pull of their feelings towards each other were well written and acted. Their suffering and their joy gave me feels. I’m happy I watched it.

There’s also some nice messaging about staying true to yourself, some beautiful parts of Thailand, and a sweet side couple.
