Welcome to my Saturday blog post, where I give thoughts on dramas I’m watching, whether at the beginning, middle, or end. Whatever I want, because I’m petty that way.
This week, I recapped episodes 7-8 of Love in the Moonlight. Unfortunately, I think these are the fluff episodes before we go full soap-y angst.
I also recapped episodes 9-10 of Goddess Bless You From Death. I continue to be impressed by this show’s balance of characters solving a mystery and characters having sex at the office.
What did I watch this week? We’re still in that lull where a few shows are ending, and a few shows are starting, but things haven’t really gotten going. What I’m saying is, the watching is slow. But I still finished something:

Head 2 Head – ไหนใครว่าพวกมันไม่ถูกกัน – 2025
Recently aired Thai school-racing-supernatural BL with 12 episodes.
Things start to change for a pair of frenemies when one of them has visions of a future with the two of them in a very different kind of relationship.
Thankfully, racing wasn’t important past the initial setup, and there were no school projects, but I was happy to see the supernatural part stick around until the end. It made for an interesting, if at times uneven and confusing, story. With a lot of visits to the hospital.

So let’s start there!
As I went into with my initial review, we’ve got childhood frenemies who share the same birthday and live next door to one another. Everything changes when the more antagonistic, brattier of the two starts having these confusing visions of the future.
Or are they? They could just be dreams.
He gets a few confirmations that what he is seeing is real, including the location of his adversary’s diary. A diary that shows his adversary has been in love with him since they were little kids. This, along with other aspects of the visions, leads to a reversal of his attitude, with him romantically pursuing his now confused partner.
There was a lot I really liked about this setup. Unlike shows with clearly repeating timelines that put the character into a puzzle-like situation where they have to strategize to save their own lives (think Reset), what was going on here was very vague. The visions of the future came to him as these scattered dreams, never giving him a full picture of the future or a reason why he was seeing it.
After a few visits to the hospital and learning the truth, his partner wants him to take sleeping pills and stay safe. This fit well with the partner’s stubborn personality, but it also meant that our guys weren’t working together on the problem. Because, of course, our guy couldn’t just take sleeping pills and ignore the sad future he was foreseeing.
This led to conflict between the two of them, which also felt very real considering the circumstances.

And like reality, it was also confusing and aimless at times
Because our bratty guy didn’t really know what was going on, it was hard for him to know what to do. He spent a lot of time stressing, ending up in the hospital, and reacting to these visions. Less time was spent on trying to solve the problem.
In the end, the solution to the problem was disappointingly simple. It was in keeping with a fluffy, college BL, but it was also underwhelming. Part of it even felt needlessly unresolved, leaving me a little worried for one character’s future when I shouldn’t be.
I enjoyed this more realistic take on visions of the future, but I feel like they could have done a little more with it.

But there was more going on than the supernatural plot
Our guys went to school, attended class, pinned things onto mannequins, and hung out together. So. Typical school BL stuff. Nothing that exciting.
I continued to enjoy seeing Sea, usually the reserved, quiet one, get to play a smiling, obnoxious brat. We also got to see Keen get angry and yell and be stubborn, which is closer to his “Hi” by my Luck character, but still fun.
I liked the second couple a whole lot. One of them had a sad past, an inability to think things through, and was good at causing problems and crying. The other was intense and quiet and capable of getting very, very angry. What went on between them was messy and not romantic at times, so they will not work for everyone.

This is probably my favorite Sea and Keen show
Normally, I avoid pitting shows against each other, but in this case, it’s more about me and less about the shows.
To me, Only Boo is the stronger show with a plot that stays focused all the way to the end. It’s never messy or confusing. I’m not worried about one of the characters when it ends.
I like messy and confusing. I’m amused by seeing our leads take turns ending up in the hospital, only to be sent home with a small bandage on their forehead. I also like the second couple in this show more than Only Boo. So for me, this is the more likely rewatch.
Really, I’m not pitting them against each other. I’m saying you should watch both.
