Intern In My Heart – WDIW February 3rd, 2024

Welcome to my weekly blog post where I give thoughts on dramas I’m watching but not recapping.

This week I recapped episodes 10-11 of Pit Babe, wherein Pit Babe and his Boyfriend hit another rather large snag in their relationship. I also recapped episodes 7-8 of The Sign, wherein we see some shirtless performance art.

Only one review this week, after which I’ll briefly explain why I quietly dropped two dramas.

This week I watched half of:

Intern In My Heart – เด็กฝึกหน้าใส เติมหัวใจนายหญิง – 2024

Currently airing Thai modern romance, I’m at 5 out of 10 episodes.

A young man with painful psychic touching abilities meets the only person he can painlessly touch: his attractive, bad tempered boss.

Here’s a link to the trailer.

I’ll admit I started this because Pit Babe’s male-only cast was making me feel guilty towards Thai actresses.

This show is a fluffy fun romp that, at least as of the midway point, is not terribly deep and absent of any sharp edges. While our female lead has a terrible reputation, it seems to largely come from cluelessness. Our male lead is here to gain insights into what’s really going on by awkwardly touching people and then lightly lecturing her.

They’re pretty cute together. It’s fun to see our female lead open up and enjoy herself. She softens quickly, but she’s still tough enough to take on evil workplace competition. There is also still room for her to grow in the second half of the show.

He’s sweet and kind and wonderful, so his issues are more external. He’s got this pesky touch-telepathy that has him bundling up during Thailand’s summer. It’s painful and horrible whenever he comes into skin-on-skin contact. Luckily our female lead may be the key to solving this problem.

There’s also a cute secondary introvert/extrovert BL couple that is developing at a nice pace.

It’s the kind of show where our female lead hurts her finger in two episodes. It’s also well paced and easily enjoyed. I don’t recommend it if you need angst and conflict and to be put through the emotional wringer. For that, I’d recommend Marry My Husband. But if Marry My Husband has you feeling depressed and exhausted, this might be a good chaser.

Now for:

An Update On Two Shows I Dropped Without Saying Anything

I quietly dropped both Last Twilight and A Journey to Love at about the halfway point.

Unfortunately, I don’t have anything very interesting to say about why. Despite both of their strong starts, I could see they were both going in directions I didn’t want to follow.

I don’t have any reason to warn others away from completing them. Both shows had a lot of positive buzz online. Since my reasons for dropping are just personal tastes, I can’t recommend for or against them.

But in case anyone was waiting eagerly for my final thoughts, I apologize! You’ll have to content yourself with my Pit Babe recaps.
