Pre-Recap Information:
People on the internet have been excited about this one for a while. I think it’s because it’s based on a book, and our two leads were on DMD Friendship The Reality.
I haven’t read the book, and I skimmed through the show, which was like a cute for-business version of His Man or the Boyfriend. So why am I watching this?
Because I’m curious why people on the internet are excited. Also, I’m game for something with higher production value and off the overly-beaten path of school-office romance. With this, we have both.
Not that I know much about this show beyond what I’ve laid out above, but I have now watched the first two episodes, so here’s what I’ve got:
Poor Khemjira (Khem for short) has a family curse where male children die horribly before they are 21. To make things worse, he can see ghosts, and it seems like they’re trying to kill him or at least do terrible things to him long before he turns 21.
He’s managed to live this long, but 21 is getting close. Reasonably, he’d rather not die. He seems to be a good kid, so we don’t want him to die either.
He has a friend, Jet, who seems dedicated to keeping him alive, which is nice of him. Jet has a master, Paran, who we know from DMD Friendship, and the poster will be Khemjira’s love interest.
But Paran promised to stay out of karmic problems and focus on protecting his village. He’s not interested in Khem’s big problem. But again, we see the poster Paran.
I’m looking forward to all kinds of supernatural fun outside of the city. I’m curious just how epic this show will get.
