TL;DR Version
Chi Di Nu Zi is killing people and seeing Tai Sui. Yun Zhong decides to execute her so Rong Hao uses Li Yuan to break free, and his henchwoman dies in the process. Dan Yin takes Jie Li to Xishan Siming Hall to be cured, and updates the Goddess and Chang Heng on Rong Hao and Tai Sui both being free. Chang Heng and Orchid prepare to marry in three days.

Recap
Chi Di Nu Zi didn’t really slash Dan Yin’s throat, but she’s not doing well and tells Dan Yin to leave. Later that night she freaks out and slaughters the patrol that comes to check on her.

Then she’s with Evil God Tai Sui. She blames it for bewitching Rong Hao and it says it gave him hope. It declares it already won. Chi Di Nu Zi believes that with the Xishan Goddess resurrected it won’t succeed. Tai Sui is confident in the weakness of people.

Chi Di wakes up and screams for guards.

Yun Zhong tries to write this off as nothing, but Chang Heng is concerned about Tai Sui being involved. Yun Zhong feels the Moon Tribe is the real issue, despite them being peaceful now. Yun Zhong ends it by telling Chang Heng to just focus on his wedding.

With the fairy court though, Yun Zhong decides to execute Chi Di the next day. Rong Hao’s henchwoman Die Yi reports to him while in the form of a butterfly.

Dan Yin is concerned by her father, Li Yuan, who asks her to take care of Jie Li if he passes away. After he leaves she tries to get Jie Li to join her in investigating where he’s going, but when Jie Li protests, she goes on her own.

Li Yuan goes to free Rong Hao, who is willing to let him kill Die Yi. Li Yuan is disgusted, and they fight over who is worse. Dan Yin shows up and Rong Hao blasts them with Evil Spirit.

Dan Yin tries to go after Rong Hao but he escapes and she’s taken hostage by Die Yi. Jie Li appears and looks ready to help her old master murder her new family, but it’s a lie! She kills Die Yi.

Rong Hao finds Chi Di has killed her guards again and is unconscious with blood on her.

Back at their place, Li Yuan apologizes to his daughters for being a terrible father. Jie Li helps him get away from a clingy Dan Yin by knocking her out. When she wakes up, Dan Yin accuses Jie Li of ruining her life. Dan Yin then realizes Jie Li is going to die since she is still poisoned and Die Yi had the antidote. Jie Li feels since she betrayed everyone she cared about she might as well die. Dan Yin thinks they’ll forgive her, but Jie Li thinks the world is better off without her. She doesn’t want to tell any more lies. Then she hunches over in pain.

DFQC is working on improbable magical ways to get Orchid’s memories back that Shang Que shoots down. The Xishan Goddess shows up, she’s learned about Orchid from Chang Heng and wants DFQC to know that Orchid will never come back. Orchid was only a weak memory attached to the illusion that was used to hide the Xishan Goddess.

DFQC says she’s still here and points out the similarities between the Xishan Goddess and Orchid. She says she’s marrying Chang Heng in three days.

Dan Yin gives Jie Li a piggyback across Xishan to get to the Goddess for healing. Dan Yin also updates the Goddess and Chang Heng on Rong Hao escaping and Chi Di seeing Tai Sui.

Afterward, the sisters run into Shang Que. He’s concerned about Jie Li. She puts him off. The sisters talk about their hopeless loves. Dan Yin because Chang Heng doesn’t love her back and Jie Li because Shang Que is too good for her.

Shang Que’s level of desperation to fix things with Jie Li has him burning a love candle. DFQC kills Shang Que’s hopes now, bringing up her past betrayals. Shang Que points out that DFQC hasn’t stopped hoping either. They share a drink and are the saddest Moon Tribe members.

Xishan Goddess and Chang Heng go to the Soul-Shattering Abyss and confirm Tai Sui is free. The Goddess is worried that he can now go anywhere and use anyone.

DFQC is angry at Chang Heng for marrying the Goddess when he loves Orchid. Chang Heng says it’s fate, as DFQC saw in the Tianji mirror. Dan Yin also confronts Chang Heng for marrying the Goddess knowing she doesn’t love him. Chang Heng repeats that it’s destiny.

In a forest somewhere, random people stop to rest. Rong Hao lurks nearby.

Thoughts
No one wants to hear that the person they love is a weak memory attached to an illusion.

The first time I watched this episode I barely paid attention to the Li Yuan/Jie Li/Dan Yin plot and didn’t care for it. I still don’t love it, when Li Yuan was talking to his daughters about how he’d failed them I didn’t feel much except “no, you’re right.”

Seeing Dan Yin give Jie Li drag Jie Li across Xishan was more moving to me. I wonder if this storyline would have been stronger if they moved some of it up, so Jie Li and Dan Yin had a few more scenes together. The ones where Dan Yin was cricket feel like they don’t count.

The episode is somewhat light on our main characters. DFQC and Shang Que’s scenes were cute together. Chang Heng looked nicely miserable getting what he wanted that wasn’t what he wanted. There’s not much to the Xishan Goddess except that she’s focused on saving everyone. I also miss Orchid.
