Pre-Recap Information:

This one is another rewatch recap and it’s a good show for it because there are a lot of details the plot moves fast. I think I got a good basic understanding of what was going on the first time I watched, but am looking forward to a slower, more careful watch.

I will though, keep each episode spoiler-free.

Also, I am reverting to my one-episode-at-a-time recap method. These recaps will be more detailed than my 2-episode recaps. It’s a short enough show, 8 episodes, that it still won’t take me too long.

But so what’s the show about?

We’ve got Tae Myungha, who suddenly ends up in a game with the unenviable task of making Cha Yeowoon happy. Since Cha Yeowoon has a pretty sad life this isn’t an easy task but Myungha is up to the challenge. So if we ignore the video game stuff, we have a cute High School romance with a sunshine pursuing a grump.

Outside of that cute, simple story is a more complicated story about Myungha and why he ended up in this game in the first place. This is the deeper, harder-to-understand part of the story that I look forward to trying to catch all the details about.

It’s also worth noting that this is the first Korean drama I’m recapping

I have nothing against Korean dramas, they just tend to be long and intense and well-covered by the English internet already.

Korean dramas can also have much higher production value than dramas from other countries. Obviously, this is not always true, and while this show is not on the level of some Korean dramas it’s visuals and sound design were good enough for me to take notice. But is that always a positive? We’ll see.

It’s also based on a manhwa with a similar name that is still ongoing. I haven’t read it so I’ll only be commenting on the drama itself
