Pre-Recap Information:
While the gimmicky set-up of this show is not one that normally appeals to me, I was impressed by the writing in the first two episodes. They wasted no time in introducing important details about the characters, the show’s theme, and where it might all be going. It quickly got me hooked.
Besides, this is a gimmick that worked on me once before, just, with hitmen involved that time.
Here, instead of hitmen, we’ve got some familiar faces. Mark and I go all the way back to Star and Sky, but I enjoyed him far more in the Thai version of Cherry Magic with current partner Junior. They were also the “nice couple” in the uneven Perfect 10 Liners. With a history of being “nice”, I’m looking forward to seeing Junior be not-nice.
Ohm is most familiar as P’Dean, from the epic Until We Meet Again. Here, he gets to be more extroverted. Poon has been wandering around my screen in secondary roles for years, going back to 1000 Years Old. He’s playing to his usual type, but it works for him, so that’s fine.
So what’s the set-up?
We’ve got two cousins. Pai is the very responsible heir to the company, whose entire life revolves around his work. North, is a sweet, hapless young man whose main goal in life is to avoid getting scolded by his cousin. He’s not good at that either.
Pai meets a handsome stranger, Tim, and over the course of a year, builds a relationship with him. Tim seems perfect, sweet, and caring, everything Pai needs in his life. They get engaged.
North meets a handsome stranger, U, while out on a hike. Over the course of a night, they get closer, and U seems to be everything North wants. They get married.
Tim and U are the scammers.
I already know I’m in for some heartbreak when (at least one of) these cousins discovers the true nature of their partners. But I also know that this is a BL, and somehow it’ll all work out.
With a show like this, it’s all about when the truth is revealed, the scammers have to be honest and prove themselves. Let the heartbreak begin!
