I didn’t watch Cutie Pie, but I live on this planet, so I am aware of the adorable pair with the internet-will-complain age difference that is Zee and Nunew. From clips of them online, I like that Nunew shows off his femme qualities, as the rarity of femmes in BL makes me sad. I’m also dying for a good butch in a GL. Can someone get on this?

I also know that their first show was about an arranged marriage, a very typical romance genre setup. This time, we have a young man who doesn’t know he is a prince, being forced into a world of royalty and power with a mysterious man at his side. It’s another kind of traditional, sweeping romance setup.
What’s interesting to me is how rare these setups feel rare in the world of East Asian BL dramas. We get boxers and mafia and con men and lawyers, but I haven’t seen a lot of arranged marriages or princes yet (again, talking Thai BL, I am aware of Red, White & Royal Blue.)
Having watched the first two episodes, with a fairytale opening, rolling green hills, and Zee on a horse, I can see this is a ROMANCE. I mean, look at that poster.
So that’s what I’m here for, a grand, classical romance with lots of drama and hopefully Nenuw getting to be femme.
