When last we left our fated duo, they’d just had an intense but important reunion between Pharm/In and his sister. Now it’s time for a break again.

I can’t decide whether this show is too college or not

After In sneaks a kiss on Korn, he talks about going on vacation to go rafting. Korn makes promises that we know he isn’t going to keep.

But Pharm and Dean are on that vacation. Pharm is floating and Dean is worrying about him drowning. Pharm saw In and Korn’s memory, and knows this fulfills Korn’s promise. Dean wants to be clear he took Pharm, not In.

The vacation involves plenty of drinking and teasing about sex. Compared with the serious, fantastical past-life stuff, it feels true-to-life and realistic. But maybe it’s too realistic for me at times. Dean and Pharm are sharing a room and everyone is too interested in when and how sexual they are getting. At one point Win texts about how he’s getting people drunk to distract them from Dean and Pharm’s sex life. 

I guess that’s college behavior but also, ew. I’m glad I’m not in college anymore.

We do get a nice contrast between the past and present again. In pushed a kiss on Korn, but now Dean is the aggressive one.

Until Pharm starts pulling Dean’s pants down. Its because he’s curious about a tattoo he heard Dean has on a secret spot. That tattoo is of a compass because Dean was lost and looking for Pharm/In.

What a weird weight to have in your relationship. To know you were the person your lover has been looking for since birth. Maybe with that kind of heaviness in your relationship, immature interest in your sex life would be a welcome break.

Win and Team are also busy during this vacation

Besides protecting Dean and Pharm from overinterested classmates, Win takes care of a drunk Team. Maybe not ‘takes care’, because there’s kissing involved.

Their dynamic is very different from Dean and Pharm. They don’t have past life angst, just present life angst that makes them weary of each other. There’s also more shoving. Team thinks Win isn’t serious. Win thinks Team is going to run away. Team wants Win to catch him.

They’re pretty darn cute together

Less cute is when they are trying to get all the sex details from Dean and Pharm over breakfast the next morning. But at least they’re all good friends.

I should start a list of the different waterfalls in different Thai shows. This one is the Oke Nang Phee Suer tier at the Erawan National Park and it is beautiful. We spend a while there watching the guys gossip and swim in the water. 

Pharm can’t take his shirt off because of Dean’s love marks. Team has a love bite on his neck too but he claims it’s a mosquito bite while glaring at Win. There’s more flirting. There’s more talking about food.

So will it all be flirting and waterfalls from here on out?

Nope. Dean takes Pharm to his place, but Dean’s mom is there. Dean’s mom who was In’s niece. Pharm promptly faints. Oops.

We get a flashback to In with his niece. His niece loves him so much that she wants to marry him. In explains he can’t, he’s in love with someone already. In can’t marry that person either though, which sucks. Still sucks, though hopefully changing soon.

When Pharm wakes up Dean is worried. While he was unconscious Pharm had trouble breathing. Dean’s mother is concerned and Pharm is uncomfortable around her. He wants Dean to take him home.

Dean’s mother insists he stays because he’s in rough shape. Dean already told her that Pharm is his boyfriend. Pharm hugs her, and she seems confused but hugs him back.

Alone, Pharm sobs about how much In loved his niece. She doesn’t remember him because she was so young when In died. Dean comforts him. It has to be devastating and lonely for Pharm, compared to how he could share his grief with Dean’s grandmother/In’s sister.

But we see Dean’s mom looking at pictures of In and crying. She might not remember specifics, but she must remember the love and the loss. You don’t have to have known someone for a long time, or think about them often, to feel strongly about them. Especially when the loss is so abrupt and unfair.

When past lives makes it hard to enjoy a bath or sleep

Poor Pharm. He doesn’t just have his nerves at meeting Dean’s family, he has In’s memories of how traumatic it was to deal with his family and Korn’s. He tries to enjoy a warm bath but he’s starting to panic. He’s worried about Dean’s Dad.

Dean slips in behind him to comfort him. Pharm is worrying about Dean’s dad, and Dean doesn’t talk much with his Dad and doesn’t want to talk about him much. Pharm says maybe Dean and his father are both bad at talking.

This feels unfair, as Dean has been talking to and comforting Pharm. He promises Pharm they will not break up, no matter what his dad says. 

But Pharm dreams about In and Korn. I think they are together in bed at their place where they will later die. Dean wakes up breathing hard. Pharm is also having nightmares about that fight in the restaurant. Dean wakes him and gets him to realize it’s a dream.

Breakfast time!

And Pharm is doing things in the kitchen with Dean’s siblings’ help. Dean’s mom thinks that guests shouldn’t be serving breakfast but does nothing to stop it. I see you Dean’s mom.

Dean’s father is quiet. There’s a lot of looks between him and Dean, and Dean and Pharm. Eventually, Dean’s dad puts Dean on the spot, and Dean tells him Pharm is his boyfriend. Dad wants to know if they’ve thought it through and what Pharm’s parents say. It’s a bit much, but nothing like what In and Korn experienced and Pharm fears.

Then, at his wife’s teasing, he tells Dean to be gentle.

We see that the parents had already talked it over the night before. Dean’s father feels that since their relationship faced so much opposition, he doesn’t want to do the same to his son. Good thinking Dean’s dad.

Things are going well enough that Pharm is hand-feeding Dean in the kitchen. And Dean is telling Pharm he wants to have sex next week. Really Dean? Is now the time?

But that’s the note we’re ending on this time!
