Pre-Recap Information:

This is a bit of a wild card of a recap for me. I’ve just finished recapping a gaggle of shows and am in the mood for something fun and ridiculous like Pit Babe. Alas, omegaverse shows are not easily found (yet) but this show had a few things that gave me hope:

  • Adults (in theory anyway!) with adult jobs! Interesting ones even!
  • A fun premise that throws the two of them together right away
  • A light tone
  • An episode count that doesn’t worry me

So no race cars or alpha’s but a boxer and a doctor.

The set-up is that our titular doctor, Wandee, has been in love with a colleague for too many years. He finally works up the courage to confess only to be turned down because he’s a man and too vanilla.

Determined to prove his crush wrong, our doctor goes to a club to find a one-night stand and gets terribly drunk. To me, thinking that drunken, casual sex will prove you aren’t vanilla is pretty vanilla. But also, there is nothing wrong with being vanilla and Wandee is adorable.

Luckily for Wandee, our boxer Yoyak also thinks he’s adorable. Eventually. Their first encounter involves instant dislike but also staring over a stethoscope. Somehow their second meeting, where Wandee is a sloppy drunk, twerking in a convenience store aisle, and lying down in the trash, goes better.

A relationship of sorts ensues.

At the time I’m writing this there are 3 episodes out and the show is giving me contract marriage vibes. We’ve got two people depending on each other in a relationship that isn’t based on the modern relationship foundation of love and a desire to be together. I love these kinds of stories for a chance to see how people in a relationship continue to work together and grow.

So I’m hoping for a minimum of angst and a maximum of fun times with the two of them together. Let’s see how this goes!
