Welcome to my weekly blog post where I give short thoughts on dramas I’m watching but not recapping.
The first week of this new year I’ve had to prioritize life over drama watching, but in the next few weeks I hope to get back into watching more and start doing some shorter recapping of shows I’m watching.
Even though I’m moving slow, I’m still recapping Bad Buddy and Love Between Fairy and Devil so you can check out my thoughts on individual episodes there.
I’m still watching and enjoying Between Us and I Will Knock You (pictured) had my favorite episode so far this week. To see my general thoughts on any of these shows, which haven’t changed, you can read my post from December 10th.
This week I didn’t finish anything and the only show I started was:
Under the Queen’s Umbrella – Korea 2022
A recently aired South Korean historical comedy drama, I’m at 2 out of 16 episodes.
In this show the Queen of Korea has to deal with political intrigue and her own wild sons, the crown princes. It’s not my usual type of show, but everyone was talking about how great it was so I had to check it out, plus it has Kim Hae Sook as the Dowager Queen and I love her.
So far it’s a ton of people and relationships and political stuff that is hard for me to track, but I have a feeling in the next few episodes I’ll be able to start better following what’s happening. Kim Hye Soo dashing around with her chest forward and her hands tucked into her hanbok feels like she’s powering the show forward and I’m curious to see what she does in the face of everything from deadly dangers to her annoying children.
