Pre-Recap Information:

Of all the Asian countries whose dramas I watch, Japan seems to be the most obsessed with Cinderella. If a high school is having a cultural festival, 8 times out of 10, our main characters will be involved in putting it on as a play.

Then there are the countless shows with Cinderella in the title. Most of which I have never watched, because I’m way more of a Beauty and the Beast person.

But I watched this one, and I loved it, and I feel like an easy recap of a show I love that I know isn’t going to get the most views, but whatever. If I get one more person to watch it, that’s a win.

Anyway, we’ve got a princess who moved to Tokyo with big dreams, only to be overwhelmed and end up cleaning a restaurant floor. We’ve got a prince who is outgoing and friendly and a little goofy. And we’ve got a grumpy, cross-dressing fairy godmother who wants the princess for himself.

Despite the love triangle set up, and Japan loves a BG love triangle like it loves Cinderella, the story is sweet and gentle. It’s a Cinderella story without any wicked stepsisters or stepmother.

The series is based on a manga that I admit I have not read yet, though it’s about time. Maybe I’ll read it while I’m recapping. You can get the whole series in English via my affiliate link.
