Welcome to my Saturday blog post, where I give thoughts on dramas I’m watching, whether at the beginning, middle, or end. Whatever I want, because I’m petty that way.
This week, I ventured back into the gloriously dramatic world of cdramas with recaps of episodes 1-2 of Pursuit of Jade. Already we have pig slaughtering and attractive injured men in the snow, what’s not to love?
I also finished recapping My Romance Scammer with episodes 11-12. Alas, Tim never visited the hospital again in these final episodes. If all you want is a full series review, I’ve got that for you below.
What did I watch this week? Not enough! Right now, there are So Many Shows to watch, but I had To Do Things That Were Not Watching Dramas, which is… so annoying.
So here’s the one review:

My Romance Scammer – รักจริง หลังแต่ง – 2026
Recently aired Rich-Guys-Con-Artists BL with 12 episodes.
A pair of wealthy cousins meets a pair of scammers. Romance, weddings, and betrayal ensue.
The show got off to a strong start with a strong first half. In the second half, it failed to address the setup fully and at times defaulted to generic BL tropes. It wasn’t so bad that it ruined the story, but it was disappointing.

Let’s Talk About Two Rich Guys and Two Scammers
Because that’s the setup.
Our rich guys are the Overworked Heir and his Work-Avoidant Cousin. The Very Responsible Heir has a boyfriend he’s been seeing for quite some time and, despite some qualms, is finally engaged. The Cousin meets a guy and spends a day with him, and decides to marry him.
The fiancé and the new groom are the scammers. So far, so good.
For the newly married scammer, we’re shown why he became a scammer. We see how it’s affected his life and the way he sees people, and why it hasn’t been easy for him to do anything else. We see him decide to change his life and the hard choices he has to make as a result. He does his best to share all of this with The Cousin.
This is all great.
For our engaged scammer, he explains to a side character his reasons for his illegal activities, and we’re given a single flashback. This flashback seems to imply certain things about his past, but they are never addressed, so I’m confused about what even happened.
Once his betrayal is revealed, he never explains the reasons why on-screen to his Overworked Heir. Then, the things that motivated him to a life of crime and hurting people are resolved quickly in one scene.
This is not great.
I’d be tempted to say the writers didn’t know how to handle having morally objectionable characters as romantic leads, but they did fine with one of them. What happened?

But there is still plenty that I liked about the show
For one thing, our Overworked Heir and his scammer fiancé are played by Mark and Junior. I’ve liked them since the Thai Cherry Magic, and they are the best couple in Perfect 10 Liners. The pair of them together exude a heart-fluttering sweetness that brings a smile to my face.
This really helps for a light-hearted romantic comedy about scammers. IRL Junior’s character belongs in jail. But it’s Junior. I would have loved seeing him given more to do with the character’s complex, morally gray choices. But. It’s Junior. And Mark. They’re just so cute!
Ohm and Poon, our second couple, are a new pairing. Ohm is most famous for playing the quiet, reserved P’Dean in Until We Meet Again, and being very quiet and reserved in real life, too. Maybe for this reason, it’s pretty fun to watch him play a more animated, comedic part. And he does it well! More of that, please.
And I was really pleased that despite the built-in angst of the setup, the show stayed true to its romantic-comedy tone. Things were revealed, deep feelings were activated, but I was never forced to watch actors sit and cry for entire scenes.
On the other hand, the show had some very confused messages about the patriarchy. (It’s okay if it controls your life choices with love, I guess?) But if that kind of thing stopped me from watching dramas, I wouldn’t have a lot to watch.

Don’t watch it because you want to see a story that really grapples with its premise
Watch it because you want to see something light and fun, or you want to see more of the actors. I think then you’ll have a good chance of enjoying it.
And you can always read my recaps to share in my delight and frustration with the show, episode by episode.
