Pre-Recap Information:

Another rewatch recap for me! When I first watched this show I noticed that there didn’t seem to be any episode-by-episode recaps on the internet anywhere. I figured it’s up to me to fix this issue.

So what do we have here?

Mainly, a “good” twin named White taking the place of his “bad” twin named “Black” who is in a coma. To figure out what happened to his twin, White enters the very different world his twin was living in. A world of political activism and motorcycles and illegal activity. White, raised more to be an oppressor than the oppressed, has to be smart and adapt fast.

Where’s the BL part?

That’s the interesting thing about this show to me. We’ve got a BL acting pair in Off/Gun and a love story between them that gets plenty of screen time. But it doesn’t have the typical BL tropes, or if it has them they aren’t used in the usual way. I can’t remember for sure, but I’ll be shocked if at some point Sean wipes food off White’s mouth.

In this way, the show reminds me of To Sir With Love, which is a Lakorn (Thai soap opera) with a LGBTQIA+ storyline and not a BL. Not Me might be more a combination LGBTQIA+ love story and melodramatic thriller than a BL.

But there is a romance?

Yes. I mean, *I’m* not here because I love motorcycles. White discovers one of Black’s “friends” Sean, seemed to hate Black. This makes Sean a prime candidate for having sent his twin into a coma.

Sean also quickly notices the guy he hated a minute ago is acting very strange. His suspicions put White in danger of being discovered.

Anything else?

Amidst the love and melodrama, there’s social commentary about Thai politics, corruption, and LGBTQIA+ issues. I don’t know much about any of these things, but I appreciate the drama touching on them.

Also, you might recognize First Kanaphan Puitrakul who plays one of the secondary characters here from my other recaps. He’s Alan in Moonlight Chicken and has appeared on the TV screen in Wandee Goodday in his drama The Eclipse.
